Bluebell Ridge

There are many interesting and exciting possibilities for Volunteering at Bluebell Ridge. Every day includes a busy routine of cleaning, feeding and socialising with the cats. Due to certain regulations, you must be over 16 years of age to volunteer at the centre.

Current Volunteering Opportunities

Volunteer Vet Driver

Could you spare a little time by helping our busy cat rehoming centre in Hastings by taking and collecting cats from our vets in Battle?
You would need to have your own vehicle and be able to lift cats in and out of the vehicle safely. You will be reimbursed for your travel expenses.

Grounds Maintenance Volunteers

We are looking for Volunteers to help keep the gardens and grounds at Bluebell Ridge presentable. You will be involved in tidying the grounds, mowing, weeding and clearing, keeping the paths accessible and assisting with occasional DIY and general maintenance. Naturally, the work is quite physical and takes place outside where some of the ground can be steep, so you need to be comfortable with this.

Volunteer Office Cleaner

We are looking for a volunteer cleaner to complete general cleaning duties in our reception and office at Bluebell Ridge. General cleaning duties would include mopping, dusting, cleaning windows and tidying in general to make sure our centre looks the best it can be. You would only be required 1 or 2 hours each week on a day of your choice.

If you are interested in any of the volunteering roles above, please complete and return our application form. If you have any questions about the roles, please contact Myra, Centre Manager on 01424 752121 or email

Our Charity Shop in Bexhill

We are looking for volunteers who can help one morning or afternoon each week in our RSPCA shop in Western Road, Bexhill.

Our charity shop is a great place to volunteer, offering the opportunity to learn new skills, meet other animal lovers and the bargains are amazing!

Contact our shop team on 01424 734562 or email to have a chat about becoming a volunteer.

“As a lover of all felines, it’s a pleasure to come to Bluebell Ridge and help, albeit in a small way, to assist the lovely staff care for these delightful animals.”
